My Pilgrimage Virtual Race
One of our biggest dreams has always been to do the Camino de Santiago in Spain! Realistically we are not sure if that will ever be possible… so we have decided that we are going to do the next best thing… If you also feel the need to do a pilgrimage, to challenge yourself, to rediscover the real you… then enter this event and join us! This will be our version based on the real thing…
The Camino de Santiago known in English as the Way of St James, is a pilgrimage leading to the shrine of the apostle Saint James the Great in the cathedral of Santiago de Compostela in Galicia in northwestern Spain.
The Camino Frances is the most popular. The total distance you need to cover is 800km! You can run, walk, crawl, cycle or swim the distance in a total time of 80 weeks… Time will start counting off from the day of your entry.
Upload your results exactly by 90 weeks from your entry date to claim your medal. Upload results by making a screenshot of the app you used to measure your distance. Use app like runkeeper, or your garmin… My Account, under the race you did, click on Upload. Click on Choose file and select the screenshot from your device. Then click Upload. Any upload after this date will not be accepted, you will not appear on the results and you will not get your medals.
Once you have submitted, impatiently wait for the post to arrive with your medal…
This is not your normal type of event!!! Please ensure you select Postnet R99 as the means of delivery as you will receive a goodie bag once you entered to help you on your way…
The cost for this journey is R350
